Series Rules

Series Points are SEPARATE for 5K and 10K races.  5K results cannot be transferred to the 10K and visa versa.  You must run a minimum of 3 races at a specific distance to be eligible for SERIES Awards at that distance.  Your best 4 races at that distance will count for Series Awards.

Participating in the Great Lakes Running Series is very easy.

  1. You do NOT need to sign up separately for the Series. You are automatically registered as a series participant when you sign up for any of the five series races.
  2. To qualify for series awards, you must participate in at least three [3] of the five [5] series races. Don’t worry, we’ll track event participation and series points standings of all qualifying participants.
  3. Final point standings will be determined by your best four [4] of up to five [5] finishes in the series races.
  4. In the case of a tie in final point standings, the victor will be determined according to the better finish in the series championship race, the Luck of the Irish Run.
  5. Racers who participate in all five of the series events will receive a custom “I raced them ALL” series Hoody Sweatshirt.
  6. Please let us know if one of our events is your first race, because if it is, we’ve got a special finisher’s medal for you!
  7. The age group that you will race for the entire series is the AGE that you are on 12/31/2011 – you will not change Age Groups.
